The term "main home" is used to describe the house that you live in the majority of the year. If you have multiple residences, your main home would also be referred to as your primary residence. This is important in relation to tax law. For example, if you sell your main home, you may be able to get an exemption on capital gains taxes for the profit that you made. As long as you have lived in your main home for at least two out of the previous five years, you should not have to pay capital gains taxes.
